National Red Hat Day - April 25th

Let's join together to commemorate that spontaneous gathering of five women who ventured out to tea, wearing red hats and purple dresses, on that Saturday in April 1998! Those five women could never have dreamed that they would have nearly 1,000,000 red and pink hatted sisters within seven years!
Red Hat Society Day celebrates the first gathering of the Founding Chapter. When members asked us to proclaim a Red Hat Day, we thought it was an excellent idea! The anniversary of the first-ever tea seemed to be the appropriate date. We made the day official by doing what we always do – proclaiming it Red Hat Society Day ourselves! It is up to each chapter to decide how they want to observe our official holiday.
