Karin - from Billings, MT, recalls the wonderful smells fro her Grandma's kitchen when she would visit and stay overnight.. and Grandma made her favorite breakfast treat.. Gingerbread Waffles. (care to share your favorite childhood memories and recipes?)

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 c. sugar

Combine and set aside.

3 eggs, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. molasses
1/3 c. melted shortening

Directions:

Combine. Stir well, add to flour mixture. Bake in preheated, oiled waffle iron. Serve with butter and syrup.
