Old Maid Tea
Old Maid Tea

Kimberly from Corvallis, OR - remembers her favorite childhood food memory... My Mom & my Grandmother both drank this when they were kids. My Mom made it for me & now my girls enjoy it too! Old Maid's Tea is half a cup of milk w/ honey & nutmeg - heat it up - add water (whatever temp. to make it comfortable to drink)- mix & enjoy! Thanks Kimberly.. what a fun memory.. and I love the name. Here's a few hot drink recipes I have found... a tad different than yours...

Old Maid Tea

Instructions:

  1. Boil some water and put it into a cup.
  2. Add one splash of milk.. not too much 'cause you have to save it for the baby.
  3. Add one spoon of sugar and stir until Dad says to stop because the tinkling spoon is driving him crazy.
  4. Dink and enjoy.

Poor Man's Mocha

Instructions:

  1. Break out with a pack of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, sweetened or unsweetened, in your cup.
  2. Add sugar to taste.
  3. Add enough coffee to make thick syrup of cocoa mix, sugar, coffee, and water.
  4. Add water to desired volume.
..and more wonderful recipes and ideas...
