How to make a Fabric Valentine "Mailbox"

I started with a main theme fabric, in this case a valentine print, and a contrasting print to co-ordinate. I found that I needed:

  • 1 Fat Quarter (18" x 22") Valentine Print
  • 2 Fat Quarters (1/2yd) Co-ordinate Print
  • 3/4yd polyester batting Thermelam or needlepunch)

I created my "design" pattern by taking a piece of newsprint or kraft paper and cut a rectangle 18" x 22". Fold the paper right sides together with the crease going directly from the upper left coner point to the lower right hand corner point. Cut in half on this fold.
